Fort Greely is situated just outside of Delta Junction, two hours southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska. The once-closed army base has been revitalized by President Bush's National Missile Defense (NMD) program, housing five missile silos and a command-and-control center.

After winning a highly competitive bid process, Utility Vault supplied a variety of communications vaults to the missile defense base. Graybar Electric purchased the products from Utility Vault, while City Electric performed the installation work. The order included twenty-six 38Y-612 TA's, forty-one 687-TA's, and six 444-TA's. The Army representative and contractors were very pleased by the quality and timely delivery of the vaults. Order fulfillment was a concern, since Fort Greely is located in an area not covered by local precast manufacturers
